Good evening, everyone.
As the Mayor-Elect of Morton Grove, it is my distinct honor to welcome you to the opening of the “Ode to Joy” exhibition. This exhibition celebrates the enduring power of joy, unity, and the shared human spirit.
The phrase “Ode to Joy” evokes Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony, a masterpiece that transcends time and culture, reminding us of our common humanity. It is fitting that this exhibition is housed here in Morton Grove, a community that thrives on diversity, inclusion, and mutual respect.
I commend the Dehkhoda Educational Foundation for curating this meaningful exhibition and for their ongoing commitment to fostering cultural understanding and dialogue. Their efforts enrich our community and exemplify the values we hold dear.
As we explore the music, artworks and narratives presented, let us be inspired to carry forward the message of joy and unity in our daily lives.
Thank you to the leaders of the Dehkhoda Educational Foundation for inviting me tonight and thank you all for being part of this special occasion.
